Require HOA to assign voting per unit/ownership and adhere to majority vote

Require all HOAs to do the following:

  • assign 1 vote per unit/house (not per person)
  • Allow voting for major decisions including fee increases, vehicle parking rules, how funds should be spent, sports equipment permitted on properties (all ideas would be chosen by the majority this way!)
  • Allow for review and counting of all votes upon request
  • If managed by management company they must resubmit bid for management contract every 5years against other bids and proposals and it must be approved by the majority of unit/owner votes not merely the elected board officials who don’t often represent the will of the majority
  • This would allow volunteer hoa board members people to still approve the weekly/monthly approvals already in the governance laws while allowing each unit owner to determine larger issues such as raising of fees, budgets, allocation of resources, by the vote of the actual voices of those who own units/property
  • If you own a unit your household shares the single vote assigned to your unit address, not one per person as that would create unfair governance based on who fills their houses with people vs who owns property in the unit.
  • Voting should be done online via website or app with single vote tied to single unit/owner address and code
