For a long time, the medical industry has been persecuting people, by saying that they cannot have their free speech, because they are “practicing medicine without a license.” This could be a big topic – but repealing this law could allow people to have free speech when it comes to health. The medical industry hasn’t really had a good track record of making people healthier. If someone felt that only licensed people can speak freely about their ideas on health, then maybe a work-around, would be for people to simply say whether they are licensed or not. But it is wrong to persecute people, for trying to have free speech with regard to health.

Licensure is usually granted by demonstration of understanding via exams after professional training is complete. The licensure is also typically tied to accruing continuing education hours to maintain a current knowledge base as well as obtaining certifications in addition to the license. In addition to a state license, I have also held 5 levels of certification by 4 credentialing agencies. I have worked in healthcare for many years, & although paying the licensure fees & maintaining CE hours is a pain, it is necessary in order to do no harm. A physician or other practioner can only tell a patient what they should do. The patient has the responsibility to accept or reject that advice. Not all failures or poor outcomes are due to the provider.
