Rent across America has skyrocketed to unaffordable rates compared to 2019. A cap on rental prices for rental companies with more than 25 units will increase housing affordability and still protect small landlords.
I agree, but it should be in all cases of rent. Not just the large companies, others are greedy too.
Unfortunately large companies have different laws than small private landlords and are held to a different standard. So that may be a much more difficult thing to achieve.
While I agree with your statement, I also feel the problem isn’t with hardworking citizens that are just trying to keep their bills paid or make a little extra income.
I agree. I hate that I have to pay almost $2000 for a 2 bed apartments that’s barely over 1000sq ft . I’d love to own a home one way but can’t cause I cant save money to do it! It all goes to rent
Exactly, the housing market being inflated already makes it more difficult to buy. Add that to the impossibility of savings because of the cost of rent. Its a huge problem.
Where I live currently just got my renewal for my 1bd 1bath apartment and the rent is increasing to 2100 per month
I disagree with that just because i feel that no commerical entity should be able to own residential properties. How could we ever get houses back from a company.
Omg that’s insanity. There needs to be a cap on rental percentages to when people choose to renew their lease. That is absolutely wild
I see what you are saying but I’m not only referring to single family homes, large apartment complexes are usually owned by corporate rental companies and they have hundreds of units (usually multiple properties) with inflated rent prices.
I agree about no corporations (rental or otherwise) owning single family homes
This would be so great! It’s crazy to be paying almost $3000 for. 2 bed 1 bath that is only 975 sq ft. And a 10% increase every year. City rent prices are even more insane for even smaller spaces. There should be some kind of cap.
