Federal civil servants pay structure needs a complete revamping to bring it closer to the citizens they represent.
All elected officials in the House of Representatives and United States Senate will be paid a salary that is equal to the mean salary of their respective state or district. This figure will be calculated from data available the day they are sworn into office.
This incentives the officials create legislation that is positive across the board and find more solutions to raise the floor of quality of life in this country. The only way an elected official can increase their pay is to increase the pay of their entire constituent base through common sense, logical financial policies.
This will also bring a desperately needed reality check to officials everytime a decision is to be made as these changes will immediately effect each representative as well as their constituents.
