Protections for undocumented elderly

I realize the heavy criticism on anything to do with immigration. I also see the fear from the left or those with undocumented family members. I think the threats or concerns don’t lie with undocumented elderly and those that care for them. And I also think we’ve been giving “temporary protected status” to the wrong people.

I propose temporary or permanent protections for undocumented elderly over the age of 70 and one unmarried caregiver or a married couple responsible for caregiving whom have no history of violent crimes or crimes of moral turpitude. All of whom must have been in the US before the beginning of the 2025 Calendar year.

Be it temporary, I’d love to see more simple pathways to permanent protections for this specific class of elderly undocumented immigrants and one caregiver unmarried or a married couple both under the requirement of no violent criminal history or crimes of moral turpitude with conditions of ineligibility for government subsidies until citizenship has been reached.

Age should not stop ILLEGALS from being DEPORTED. They are STEALING money from our government that can be used elsewhere for the benefit of American citizens

I disagree. NO illegals should reside in ourcountry! If they have been here for some time , why did they not go through the process of becoming a citizen?

How is an undocumented alien stealing with no access to government subsidies?

I hear what you’re saying. Personally, I think the price for documentation is extremely costly and I think process far more difficult than people realize. Far easier for a younger person more capable of navigating internet, phone calls, interviews, red tape, etc. I’m thinking of the difficulties my grandparents have here in the states navigating the Medicare red tape, doctor office phone calls, and anything internet. I have to do that for them.

And to me, a non criminal, elderly woman, likely not working, not receiving government subsidies, is no threat to our society. Sending her back to say Mexico to make the long trip back and then navigate the red tape seems unnecessary in the name of “we shouldn’t allow that!” With no genuine reason it’s a threat or issue to American’s.
