These past couple of year’s, there has been an ABUNDANCE of illegal immigrants who have done nothing but ruin this country and made it un-safe for American citizens.
My policy is to make it possible for the the illegal immigrants who’ve stayed here for 20+ years, worked hard and kept to themselves. I have people I’ve known for many years that has never broken any law (other than crossing) who just live normally, not hurting anyone (or eating pets ).
Let them be able to still go through the process of acquiring citizenship.
It would be reasonable to allow the judicial process to take into consideration the length of time an illegal alien has been inside the United States, and to consider if they have or have not broken any criminal laws while living here. Logically the first people to be deported should be those charged of criminal acts. There should be significant penalties for those deported more than one time. For those who have proven they are inclined to be good citizens there should be a path toward citizenship. I would not think a 20 year marker would be relevant as say 5 years.
If the people living here illegally are working, paying taxes, and NOT living off the system they should have a limited amount of time to become a citizen. If they do not, I’m sorry they cannot stay. Obviously they like the country, but they have to become a citizen.
