Protect tiny houses for affordable debt free housing

Proposal to federally protect landowners rights to build small and tiny homes.

For example in almost every county in Florida currently you cannot build a tiny home, most counties have a 1000 square foot minimum, the only exception is mobile home parks and Rv parks. This prevents young people from becoming homeowners without going into massive debt. There is no reason these tiny houses can’t meet building codes if the square footage limit is lifted. It is wrong at every level. If an individual owns at least 1 acre outside of city limits, they should be able to build an affordable tiny home.

update**
Additional considerations, it may be more plausible to apply this to agriculturally zoned land. In the state and county I live in you can’t “legally” build a tiny house, even if you have 20 acres of agricultural land. You must build at least 1000 sq foot. You also cannot build more than one residence per 20 acres of land in our specific zone.

Generally these types of frivolous regulations prevent families from sharing generational agricultural land with the next generation.
