Promote the U.S. Border Patrol from Agency to a Branch of the Armed Services.
Provide clear defined role, rules, and regulations, with transparent chain of command.
Allow the Border Patrol to operate on land, similarly to how the Coast Guard operates on the water ways.
As the Coast Guard mirrors the U.S. Navy with structure, the Border Patrol should mirror the U.S. Army.
This is an interesting idea…could this work? I think this is a great idea in theory…either way the U.S. Border Patrol needs to be able to act on its own
Living in a border state myself, I’ve seen how the bureaucracy has impeded the border patrol, and how politics sways weather the mission of the border patrol is enforced or not. Though, as a branch of the armed services, I believe it would be more difficult for any political party to stop or change the mission.
