Police officers and defensive measures for schools

Out of all the money our government wastes on useless things, its a complete mystery to me as to why we dont secure our childrens schools with trained law enforcement officers stationed there. Also, bulletproof doors and reinforced secured entries and exit points. Our future lies with our children and there is nothing more important than protecting them. School shootings happen far too often and for my tax dollars, this needs to happen.
