Currently CMS policy does not allow Medicare recipients to take part in Pharmaceutical Copay Assistance Programs, only commercial and uninsured are allowed this luxury. Allowing Medicare Recipient’s to participate would greatly assist with the out of pocket costs for seniors on fixed income on the Part D plans. Recently my husband was prescribed a T drug our cost was going to be $817, if he had been allowed to use the patient copay assistance, we could have gotten the prescription for $25. This policy needs to be changed so that some of this big pharmaceutical benefits can go to the seniors.

Most breathing meds are in the higher tiers for Medicare making them unaffordable! What are those of us with Asthma, COPD, etc supposed to do? Big Pharma keeps changing the meds a little so they can keep raising the cost.
Also, meds that were covered last year are not going to be covered next year. WHY?
