Paying stay at home mothers is needed. Their work day never ends and it is hard. Or stay at home dads. It doesn’t need to be a ton but it will help the low and middle class when that second paycheck would go to some form of child care anyway.
Agree fully
I hate that my friends literally work to pay for daycare. I had my wife stay home and we lived like hobos raising 2 kids. We need to facilitate an economy built for single income families.
That being said. Other than tax credits and maybe some daycare like government subsidies, I would keep away from Government directly paying a stay at home. I want smaller Government.
Government shrinkage is key to us keeping more of our money.
Thank you for the kind gesture, but we don’t need to be paid. Our work SAVES our family money and makes family income stretch much further. Our “pay” is in all of the intangibles. I get to love my husband and children in ways I never could if I still worked outside the home.
I strongly disagree. The voters have given Trump a mandate to drain the swamp and drastically reduce or eliminate Big Federal Govt at all levels. Entire departments such as HHS, EPA, IRS, Education. Energy, NSA, CIA, etc. are on the chopping block for hundreds of thousands of mass firings. There will be no more handouts or stimulus checks, that is over. Smaller government, here we come!
Definitely do not do this. Mothers staying home free up the workforce, leaving more for men… to bring home to them. The government should never again stick its finger in the family, it undermines family structure and has caused nothing but harm and destruction.
The federal government should be creating an environment where businesses can flourish. By lowering taxes, controlling inflation, reducing the size of the government and removing other nonsense regulations. This would increase the value of the U.S. dollar. In most cases, the cost of goods does not go up, the value of the dollar goes down
I would change the term mothers to parents. Not every family has a mother involved. I am a single father of 2. My ex-wife has been absent from our kids life for 8+ years. In my small neighborhood i am 1/3 single fathers. So its not just mothers.
As a stay at home mother, I strongly disagree. We do not need more government involvement in our families. We need reform in other areas that create more available income to the family that would balance. Tax reform would create more available income to the family, as would healthcare reform. There are multiple options to create the same end result of more money in the pockets of our families.
Ending the IRS would be the best solution. Before the IRS and the second wave of feminism, the husband could easily earn enough from one 9-5 job for a very comfortable middle class lifestyle. Encouraging stay at home parents means we return to sound money (backed by gold) which stops inflation, and no income tax or corporate tax (a tax passed on to the consumer, raising prices). Tariffs made us the wealthiest nation prior to 1913 (federal reserve- the source of fiat currency and inflation).
I agree wholeheartedly with this. My 3 kids are grown now, but I was a stay-at-home mom when they were little because daycare cost more than what I would’ve brought in, and only having 1 income was a continuous struggle.
Looking at this through a Biblical lens (as yes, I’m an unashamed Christian), women are meant to be the homemakers. They are meant to raise the children and make the house a home. I fully agree that stay-at-home mothers should receive payment or benefits while the man works. If a mom chooses to work, that’s fine and her choice, but families with stay-at-home moms shouldn’t live on the brink of poverty because they are at home with their children. Stay-at-home moms are needed and I hope to be able to be one someday, I don’t want to have to be low class to raise my children.
I’m sorry but absolutely not. People need to quit coming up with ideas on how to burden taxpayers more. We want to shrink government, not expand. The idea would be to make it so that a single income family can live more comfortably. This can be achieved by making the cost of living go down, rather than handing out money. We could ban all private equity firms from owning single family homes, which would bring housing costs down, along with lowering energy costs and getting rid of, or greatly reducing the tax burden to everyone are all ways to lower the cost of living.
No kidding. Im seeing even MAGA voters making bigger government socialist policies??? I suggested even ending child support. Why are taxpayers funding peoples poor relationship choices and children. Over 6 billion spend on Child support enforcement. Thats just at federal level not counting states. End Child support
Yes. They already pay people to take care of elderly relatives at home. Why not do the same for parents for early childhood!
