This is so important!!! I submit that we should ban all ads except for print and radio. The television ads are both offensive, childish, and misleading. Doctors and pharmacists are the best persons to provide information on prescription drugs.
The pharma companies are suckering in patients to request their drugs from the doctors, and I promise you the patient can find a doctor to write the prescription. Remember when we had cigarette ads on television and radio? Yeah, they decided that they were suckering people in---- JUST LIKE BIG PHARMA DOES NOW.
So, we have a precedent to ban this information. They can still provide print information, but no cutesy seniors dancing for viagra. Please.
Absolutely, prescription drug advertising on television should be banned. If you look up the full cost of the drugs that are advertised, you’ll see how ridiculous the cost is, even though the pharmaceutical company may try to say it can cost as little as zero dollars to you. The full cost of the drug is somehow paid by increased healthcare premiums. This is just a ploy to have a patient put pressure on a healthcare provider to prescribe something that the provider normally wouldn’t prescribe.
