Not a fan of real ID, but birth certificates and passports work.
I would like every ballot to have a QR code, only known to the voter so that you can check that who you voted for actually was counted the right way!!
I agree. Voter ID , paper ballots and make Election Day a national holiday.
YES to voter ID! Specifically,
- Proof of citizenship required for voter registration.
- Government-issued photo ID required to vote. Including with mail-in ballots (include a photocopy).
Pair this with restoring the citizenship question to the Census. That will make it even easier to detect fraud.
As for early votingâŚYES this is needed. Many people canât take Election Day off, e.g. if you work in a hospital or assisted living facility, or any business that needs to remain open. It should be limited to max 2 weeks (including a weekend) before Election Day. Mail in voting like it used to be (when it was called an âabsentee ballotâ) and you needed a good reason to apply for one, like youâre out of the country.
Agreed.
In Ohio, if youâre under 21 years of age, the license is Vertical and states, âUnder 21.â Thereâs no reason why states canât put Non-Citizen on their licenses.
Here in the Frozen North, weather can be mean on Election Day. Many people go to the Courthouse to vote ahead of time to make sure that they can get their votes in, and not have snow or ice impair this. Some others are âsnowbirdsâ who go south before election day. Interestingly, pre-voting at the Courthouse requires photo ID and citizenship verification. Not sure that happens election day.
I would like to echo others that pointed out paper ballots should be made the law of the land.
No. We cannot close the hospitals, all businesses etc. My suggested amendment is simply to state all employers allow their employees time off during poling hours in their respective jurisdictions to go vote.
And ALSO forfeits any State destined funds, supplements, or reimbursement until integrity is resolved
I am in Oregon in a supposed âblueâ county. I can remember when I was a young voter and Oregon would flip red and then blue. Since we started mail in ballots we have consistently stayed blue which I question if it is the will of the people. Living in a blue county the results do not reflect those that have voted. I want a transparent election
I agree with National Voter ID Law. We will never Have fair elections without cheating if this does not get done.
It is done in every other country. That is why most elections around the world happen on Sundays.
How are foreign nationals even allowed to receive a state ID or DL? It requires your SS# and/or birth certificate and they wouldnât have eitherâŚ
Please, No electronics. it has been a disaster for our nation.
Early voting a must, especially in heavily populated areas where poll workers can become overwhelmed during one day voting. Early voting makes it easier to spot corruption. Photo ID a must. Vote by mail needs to go except for elderly or disabled.
Americans have IDâs for almost every part of their lives. Voter ID is no different.
Agree no ID no vote.
Must be a US citizen to vote.
Every state should have to submit certified votes within 4 hours of closing. Makes no sense that the largest states can do it but somehow smaller states with fewer votes canât.
Voting should be consistent (e.g. 7am to 7pm) local time.
Any votes after this time should not be counted. This would force states to get their act together. If they can only get 63% of their stateâs votes in by 11pm so be it. Local and state citizens will force out incompetent election officials by voting them out!
Provisionary and mail in ballots should go through strict auditing protocols to validate legitimacy and negate voting duplication.
There should be a website where people can verify their vote.
There should be a government website where people can publicly say how they voted so it can be compared to official results. If the two do not align statistically, then there should be established protocols taken to validate results.
All votes should be counted with groups of 3 representatives from each party (Rep, Dem and Ind) present and unanimous consent to be valid. Limit the max number of votes (e.g. 1,000) to be counted by each group to minimize corrupted data.
Constitution states that only citizens can vote so votee idâs should require proof of citizenship
State DMV (Motor Voter) registration is okay, IF:
- Two valid forms of ID are presented (certified raised-seal birth certificate, passport, previous current, not expired photo State ID/License (any State), Military photo ID or other Federal Government photo ID) PLUS two forms of current address verification (lease agreement, most recent property tax or mtg payment, bank statement, etc.) in presenterâs name.
- Further, depending upon the type of ID presented, State DMV License and/or State IDs issued MUST add an identifier. For example, CA2-A would prefix a California license or State ID number, where â2â is the verified number of IDs presented and âAâ represents valid âAmericanâ citizenship. In the event there is not a valid American citizen ID available or presented that same prefix would read CA1-F (one form of ID presented from a foreign country or other invalid source). That person would NOT be eligible to vote or request an Absentee or Mail-In ballot.
- Green cards and/or Visas and/or Student ID cards are not âvalidâ to establish citizenship. (1-F)
Unsolicited mail-in ballots and ballot harvesting, except Absentee ballots or those mail-ins requested thirty (30) days BEFORE Election Day, should be abolished; they MUST be requested and verified directly via Voter Registrars in advance. Absentee ballots or those requesting mail-in ballots MUST include 2 verifiable IDs, including but not limited to thumbprint scan, previously issued current voter registration card, copy of current (not expired) Driverâs License or State-issued ID with signature verification. Manual check ⌠no exceptions.
Finally, ballot harvesting is not acceptable EVER except by those who are actual members of RNC or DNC representatives. No more community activists telling the disabled or assisted-living residents âtheyâ can âhelpâ fill out and distribute completed ballots.
Paper ballots for all voters: early, Absentee or otherwise. âEarlyâ voting should be limited to thirty (30) days prior to Election Day with signature and addressee verification per Voter Registration rolls. âDay of Election registrations and votingâ prohibited nationally.
I recognize that my suggestions can be finessed. Iâm not a politician nor any kind of expert in anything. Still, we all recognize a need to secure honest and infallible voting protocols which can also provide âsecure choiceâ for those who cannot partake in (or are not offered) in-person voting with integrity and support for those who cannot access traditional voting protocols.
Thank you for listening. I know so many of us are critical thinkers who hope to close loopholes and âwork-aroundsâ even whilst we hope for less governmental involvement, restrictions and the undermining of our foundational Constitutional rights.
God Bless this Nation and us all, and thank you President Trump for making this input possible.
Motor voter registrations and other mass registrations need to stop along with the abuse of the mail in ballot. Mass registrations of people that have no intention of voting leads to âmail inâ and âno IDâ voting abuse. Mail in ballots should be rarely used unless voter is extremely disabled or has proof they will be out of town on election day.
