I truly feel like mothers need at least 6 months, paid to spend with their newborns, it is a crucial time & for example, I had to go back to work at 3 weeks due to unpaid leave with threats of being fired if I didn’t. Things are expensive, most women feel Iike they can’t ever start a family due to the costs of just living & providing for themselves. A minimum of $2K a month, for 6 months (unless complications/longer leave is required due to the mother needing to stop work before delivering or if baby is in NICU) etc. Mothers feel left behind & useless when on leave since most of us are not supported financially while embarking on this incredible experience. To help ensure Americas birth rates rise & the mothers are healthy, this support would make a huge difference to our society in the best way I believe
