Meaningful parental controls and time limits must be added to all social media sites to allow parents to limit viewing of sensitive information by their children. Current solutions are lacking, likely because social media companies profit on underage viewing of all content. Fines should be given to companies who allow underage viewing of bad content (e.g. $100 / view). Reporting features and AI make it easy to screen and flag any uploaded content.
Binge consumption of harmful content has become a major problem in our kids lives today and severely impacts our country. Rates of social anxiety, depression, cyber-bullying, attention disorders and other serious conditions are skyrocketing in the younger generation.
