Lower the voting age or stop taxing minors

I find it quite frustrating that I, at 17 have to pay taxes on my income. “No taxation without representation” always comes to mind when I open my paystub and see how much of my hard earned money gets taken. I think of all of the things I could be doing with that money instead. Saving for college, down payment on a house, saving for a car, buying necessities, and much more. Most minors don’t make nearly as much as an adult, so why take from the little we already bring in?

While I understand many people think it is a bad idea to lower the voting age, think about the age to drive. If we can hand a 16 year old keys to a motor vehicle, why can’t we let them vote?

I strongly believe that we should stop taxing income for minors, unless they can vote. There’s no getting around sales tax, but I think that’s a fair trade off considering minors are able to drive. I personally would rather just have a few extra dollars in my pocket than vote anyway.

I must agree, however I think this could get spun into Trump’s plan to remove taxes for tariffs.

I’d like to see a small national sales tax on all new products purchased. Then abolish personal income tax.

While I highly disagree that we should lower the voting age (quite personally I think the age we can go into the military and vote needs to be 21 as well. People constantly say you can’t drink until that age because you’re “not developed” yet they can give their lives in war and vote?) I do agree that people who are not allowed to vote should not be taxed.
