Invest in New Nuclear Technologies

The world is headed directly toward a cliff. As raw materials for energy production becomes harder to extract, the cost will skyrocket. Our standard of living is already half of what it was in the 1950s and that can be directly correlated to the rise in the cost of energy. We must transition to a more cost effective and sustainable energy or our economy will continue to decline (not keep pace with previous trends) and social unrest will follow. Advancements in nuclear technology has paved a path forward, but government regulation stands in the way. China is already years ahead in the race for new nuclear production, but several companies in the West have already developed technologies and are being thwarted by government bureaucrats intent on never allowing new nuclear power to come online. Check out this 6-Point Plan to address this crisis.

Agree 100%, the US should set the standard and lead the world in the effort to design and build modern uranium based nuclear power plants. Also, India has massive deposits of Thorium and are in the process of demonstrating a safe, clean, green Thorium reactor. The US should partner with India in this venture and incentivize public/private partnerships in the homeland to mature and deploy advanced Thorium reactors based on inherent safety, abundance of Thorium, and few waste products. Several countries have artificial sun programs and we’d like to see the US either leading this fusion advancement or as a strategic partner with a leading ally country.
