I propose a program that significantly moves us to nuclear energy by a collaborative effort between gov’t and the private sector. Gov’t imposes a “nuclear tax” that will fund the building of nuclear reactors for the private sector. This eliminates the need for capital intensive investment by the energy companies and their energy rates should then reflect the private sector’s lower cost of entry. We have the cart before the horse, so to speak, tax incentives to buy battery powered vehicles with an antiquated power grid not capable of handling the load. Long term plan that is a win/win!
