Increased wages for common man

Now we all “love” capitalism. Yet the regulation from Reagan’s day are long gone. Trickle down economics has not made the common man more wealthy, as the greed portion of capitalism had no restraint.
This is the only socialism I would support.

I propose a regulation to mid level and large corporations. If the gross income of a company is over 1million annually, then CEO’s, executives and owners should be allowed to earn up to 5X the salary of their lowest paid employees. And executive bonuses should not exceed 1/5 of that individuals salary.
The disparity between execs and workers is huge.
Year over year, employees are told, “the company just can’t afford to give you a raise this year, we’ll see at your next review”. Meanwhile they vote to increase their salaries and pay out end of year bonuses.
I have worked in manufacturing my entire adult life. Bouncing between industries, and they all do the same. Exploit workers passion for their job.
We need government oversight, not in the form of a new bureaucracy, but a simple regulation to help the common man and woman, the people recognized as the backbone of the country. If the added cost associated with tariffs are going to be put on the consumer, the consumer needs a boost in their income.
