Incentive Structures for Gov’t Employees

There should be an incentive structure set up for government employees to do their job better- like merit-based bonuses. One of the reasons why government is so inefficient is because whether employees do their job well or not, they get paid the same. It is an unwritten rule that government employees underperform so as not to outshine the next person, and not raise the standards. Other govt employees that don’t want to do the extra work discourage the overachiever.
