Illegal Immigrant Deportation and Governmental Efficiency

  1. Illegal Immigrant Deportation

I think this would best be accepted by the American public if we offered a six month amnesty program for illegal immigrants to voluntarily turn themselves in for deportation. They would then be offered a second chance to enter the line to come in legally, because “America Believes In Second Chances”. This is a good framing and very much American. They leave the country voluntarily, join the queue for citizenship and if they qualify, they can return as legal citizens. If they don’t voluntarily turn themselves in over the six month period, they will be deported and can never return to the United States, ever. (This does not include the criminal element which must be removed upon encountering.)

  1. Governmental Efficiency

I listened to Elon’s X Spaces the other day and he addressed something that has been worrying me. The administrative state has over 4 million employees. That’s a lot of fat, but we can’t just put that many people out of work that quickly without causing many, many problems. We don’t want that many Democrat activists out of work at once, they could wreak havoc with protests. Elon spoke about moving these people into private sector work. That will be important, a jobs program matching people losing their jobs in the government with businesses and corporations that need slots filled. I think the first program could be to provide temporary jobs for these people in processing the illegal aliens out of the country. Also, we could move many of these people into temporary positions to work through the backlog of legal immigrants coming into this country. Speed up the process for legal immigration. Once we have removed the majority of illegal immigrants, many of these temporary positions could be made into permanent jobs for those who did it well, and the rest will have time to find work in the private sector. We need more people processing legal immigration anyway, it takes too long and costs too much, currently.

I think these are both solid starting ideas on two of our biggest Democrat party obstacles. It would completely take the air out of their arguments of racism and job cutting. And I think the majority of Americans would get behind ideas like these.

Thank you!

Wow. Very good thoughts. The real motivation behind the Lefts support of unvetted illegals (even when they are overwhelming infrastructure) is, I believe, nefarious; but their pretend defense is “humanitarian” and “needed labor pool.” Both these arguments have to be dismantled and/or addressed and resolved to get buy-in from the business sector (or work around). [My old boss had a sign on his door: ACCOMPLISHMENTS $100, GOOD IDEAS: 25 cents]. Here is a broad outline of my 25 cents worth.
The humanitarian argument is moot, because people are now onto the Left’s shame-game of manipulating good nature into obedience. So I believe the name calling (racist, fascist, conspiracy theorist, mean spirited, etc.) is now falling on deaf ears.
Justifying illegals by reason of the labor situation may be real…but the Dems solution is faulty. First, commerce will not benefit by illegal immigrants who have no skills, can’t speak the language, and doesn’t understand the culture. And second, there is no real shortage of able bodied American potential workers. There is, however, an epidemic of excessive welfare, drug addition, grown men playing videos while living with grandma, and kids who want to work but don’t have even basic life skills, much less know how to give quality output in a timely manner as a dependable team member. We also have a gluttonous situation whereby too much of the work force is employed providing low productivity on useless government jobs. So in addition to harnessing potential labor sources from welfare, drug addiction, parental enablers, and ill-trained teens, we have the government boarding and enabling non producers while commerce suffers from an inadequate labor pool. Commerce also has to contend with the above market salaries and benefits that make competing with government difficult.
The labor shortage these things have created must be resolved to get buy in from the business sector for mass deportations. That requires:
      1. REVAMPING EDUCATION: The current system, where information and technology changes radically from college/training to career, is obsolete and too costly. We need more on-the-job training.
      2. CUTTING WELFARE AND ADDRESSING ADDICTION
      3. PHASED TRANSFER OF GOVERNMENT WORKERS TO PRIVATE INDUSTRY
      4. REINSTITUTION OF THE DRAFT…not full military, but a required, post high school six weeks training requirement where kids learn modified military preparedness as well as basic life skills (hygiene, manners, team work, getting up on time), and work responsibilities (following directions, being respectful, quality standards, finishing tasks, being productive, etc.) …and civics!
      5. TAX INCENTIVES for employer participation

No labor replacement solution is needed to deport gang members, military age men from hostile countries (China, Russia, the Middle East), or the unemployed. But labor replacement is going to require a longer-term strategy.
