Make a law that anyone who enters the United States illegally can not later become a citizen for life. Also anyone who comes to the United States illegally and gives birth to a child here, that child will not become a citizen. This would reduce the number of people entering illegally and get rid of the loophole for their kids being born here.
Absolutly!!!
If they would like to be a citizen as an adult that would be a much different situation.
The whole family who entered, including their kids, should be banned for life. Practically, there might be exceptions for people to apply for specific visas that are a benefit to the country, such as Elon Musk, but realistically that’s not likely to come up.
Absolutely brutal, but I agree. Make a start date when this happens. Those who are here before the start date and get deported, it doesn’t count to them unless they enter the country illegally again. I believe this is fair. <—
I disagree with this. I think once the child is of legal age they should have the opportunity to come legally. It was their parents choice to come illegally not theirs! As long as they can prove they will be beneficial to the country and are truly seeking a better life!
Green Card holders on a a path to be a citizen could definitely have children who are citizens. The Green Card Holders that are never applying for citizenship, get benefits and live overseas should not be able to have children who are citizens.
I just don’t think so. If the parent steals a diamond, and gives it to the child, should the child be allowed to keep it? Absolutely not. Whether or not they are at fault, they are not legally here and they should go back. I’m not suggesting the Immigration Reform & Control Act of 1986 be undone, restoring California, but the illegals that came under Obama and after have no place here, nor do they fit in.
Top counties like America scoop up the best people, and others, from the 3rd world - if these illegals are actually of value, it would strengthen their home countries to have so many US trained and cultivated people return. It could re-balance those counties, bringing them out of intellectual debt. Of course, if these illegals aren’t of value they should definitely go back as well.
I agree you want to come here you must come legally be a productive citizen with a trade or seek education no more fleeing the system and draining taxpayers period
Absolutely!
I disagree with the punishment extending to minors. They are not guilty of committing the crime, they were along for the ride.
If a child is in a car while a parent is driving intoxicated, the parent has consequences, not the child.
The thief example, no the child does not keep the jewel. But they are not guilty of stealing the object.
They may deported with their family, but they should be permitted to come here legally when an adult.
There should be no birthright citizenship, period. Retroactive back to anyone that is younger than 18 years old.
I DO agree with that. Minors would be able to come to the US legally after the age of 18.
Personally, in that scenario, I’d rather require that person to have to prove why they’ve been a benefit to our country. They’d have to demonstrate a history of actively contributing to making a positive impact in our society.
So it’s way tougher for them than a regular individual who’s come here legally, but if they were tricked by essentially a trafficker as a kid or as an adult who didn’t speak the to language, they have a chance to redeem themselves.
Like giving them a year or two to do something, volunteer work or starting a non-profit that actually helps or something.
Most illegal immigrants aren’t malicious, but far too many are.
Nope, the child gets a permanent band as well. This will deter the parents if they know they could ruin the chances of their kids for the rest of their lives.
