Holistic Care Covered by Health Insurers

I would love to see Holistic Care options covered by Health Insurers. It only makes sense as if want to incentivize medical institutions and insurance companies to bring better health to our country, then gym memberships, cold plunges, saunas, massage, healthy eating should all be apart of this system, or at least a portion of the costs.

I am not sure this is a good idea. I have seen other people ask for this, and it sure is tempting. But I think the insurance companies already have too much influence over healthcare as it is, and they have certainly driven up the costs of medical care. My husband has a doctor–normal sort of specialist, an endocronologist, I believe–who got sick of dealing with insurance companies and decided he’d just charge his patients. He has one employee–his wife–and he charges $60 for an office visit, which is well within the reach of probably at least 75% of the people who live in the USA.

I heard another story from a woman who does a specialized type of physical therapy, and she was really helping people with her approach. She got a job working in a chiropractor’s office, and the chiropractor, who had an insurance-based business, finally told the therapist not to use her approach any more because basically patients were getting well and not returning, which was not good for the chiropractor financially. Insurance will pay…and pay…and pay, provided they cover whatever it is you’re doing.

I think the whole medical financial system needs to be re-thought so that it’s affordable, not dependent on the approval of insurance companies, and not set up to line the pockets of huge insurance companies, as well as the medical establishments. It seems like MSAs (or HSAs as they’re sometimes called) are a step in the right direction. We’re never allowed to put in the amount that we actually have to spend each year, and it would help if we could do that. (We have quite good insurance, too, by the way, in terms of what they pay, but we get slaughtered with my husband’s dental work.)

I honestly don’t know what the best solution is, but I’m not sure that more insurance coverage will solve any of the problems.

I am in favor for Holistic Health Care coverage through all Health Insurance Companies. We need to be given more options when it comes to our health and wellbeing. There are different methods and approaches on how to treat illness and disease in our country but we are only covered by traditional western standard practices. If We The People are paying for our own healthcare, shouldn’t we have the right to choose which kind of method we see fit for our own health and wellbeing?
I say that to say this; just like myself, there are A LOT of other Americans who see a Health Care System that has been set up to do exactly what it’s pretending that it’s not doing and that is, MAKING BANK ON KEEPING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SICK AND ADDICTED! and for me, myself and I and the rest of the American people that are having to ASK the Federal Government and demand that the Health Insurance Companies change current coverage policies and provide us, the American people with health insurance coverage for different methods of Medical Treatment we choose to use to prioritize ourself and our family’s health and wellbeing, only SOLIDIFY’S this theory to be absolutely CORRECT!!
PLEASE VOTE IN FAVOR FOR THIS HEATH INSURANCE COVERAGE POLICY CHANGE!

I am on Medicaid. I had a work related hip injury in 2018. I was covered for chiropractic service and physical therapy. I did both and was released back to work. Since then the injury still hurts. I am no longer covered under workers compensation. I do not want to be on pain meds and I continue to aggravate the injury through exercise, even a simple walk can make it so that I am in pain and can barely walk. This has affected my overall health and vitality. I would love to continue with a chiropractor, massage therapist, nutritionist, and physical therapist but I can’t afford any of those services and they are not covered under Medicaid. The doctors just want to give you pain meds which I continue to refuse. If we helped those of us who are poor with ways to heal that could put us back to work, then we could get off of government assistance.
