Help for Americans with Addiction

Trump implements a plan that helps recovering addicts get the rehab and other resources they need to get clean by using government spending waste and the billions of taxpayer dollars being given to migrants who are in the USA illegally. Put this money towards paying for rehab programs for the addicts in America who want to get clean. America-first! Fight the Fentanyl-Opioid crisis by helping to fight the cartels/drug dealers who are coming through the southern and northern border with the drugs that are killing Americans. To help Trump’s campaign right now, President Trump could make an announcement - make a big deal to the MSM by saying he has a very important message about his VP pick, JD Vance…get some buzz going! Then, maybe have JD Vance present this plan at a press conference because of his connection to addiction- his mother having 10 years clean and sober and because of his telling the story in his book and movie, Hillbilly Elegy.

Thank you for this proposal. :pray:t2:

When you have time, come check out the thread I am publishing , and help build these policies that can transform Addiction Care in this country. :raised_hands:t2:

Our country has a long way to go to provide widespread and effective addiction services, yet the need is great. Please don’t clamor for blocking fentanyl at the border until humane treatment options are in place. I am concerned with the prospect of our nation being attacked when hundreds of thousands of our fighting-age men addicts are in the throes of withdrawal, thereby unable to protect their homes, women, children, and communities. It sounds crazy, I know, but this is a potential scenario in my small town, where these men are productive as long as they have access to the drug. Moreover, the courts and health systems are at a loss for effective addiction treatment answers for the common people. I am told by addicts who landed in a facility due to a legal issue, that they are forced to dry out cold turkey, including from fentanyl, which is dangerous and inhumane. Addict outpatients in my neck of the woods who use methadone or Buprenorphine to overcome addiction, are rarely provided tangential mental health counseling. It amounts to substituting pharma drugs for illicit drugs, sometimes for life. Behavioral health counseling is often mandated as punishment by courts, but the counselors are often under-trained and the technique usually doesn’t resolve underlying problems. Instead, treatments should widely encompass integrative and holistic approaches already available for rich people. Until then, existing services – mundane counseling and drugs – need to be offered in every neighborhood and small town medical health clinic. Currently, methadone patients in my rural community (with a health clinic) are forced to drive to the city, 80 miles round trip, to receive a daily dose of methadone. They receive gas vouchers, but this is inefficient where every small town has a clinic and the people are expected to require the methadone for the rest of their lives. Others, who opt for Buprenorphine – a shorter term solution – can find it at the county seat hospital, an 80-mile round trip in the other direction. It took weeks for me to get a name and phone number for this service because the local town health clinics had no idea it exists!
