Health Scoring on Packaged Foods & for Food Manufacturers

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has used equity scoring for companies to publically expose them to whether their practices are pro-equity. Like it or not, the scoring has been effective in moving companies on these issues. A similar scoring system should be developed by RFK jr (once he is over the FDA), yet developed internally by the FDA, for food quality on all packaged foods. The score should sit next to the nutrition label depicting the health score of the packaged item. Right below this should be the overall aggregate health score for the food company that produces the packaged food (takes into account all of their food products). Defining the score is where the real work lies, and it would need to be done independently from the food industry’s lobbying. People need to know how healthy the food is they are buying. This visible scoring should help move the needle.

This is an excellent idea, but I think the idea should go deeper into what is good food and what is not and all processed foods should be removed and replaced with good whole/raw/natural foods like our ancestors ate 200 years ago.

I’m still trying to figure out this forum! I was also trying to suggest a Health Score but mine was only one sentence long. I see you thought of this already and in greater depth!
