Give DACA recipients citizenship or a pathway

For far too long DACA Recipients have remained a pawn in many political campaigns without an unsecured status or future; I propose granting DACA Recipients either Green Cards, Citizenship, or a pathway to either option via providing they have been working (regardless if it’s been off or on) under the program, have graduated from college or are willing to enter college under the promise they will complete the time to gain a certificate or degree is there desired career path, or enlist in military service for the minimum 3-4 years. Many DACA recipients consider themselves Americans as the United States of America is all they’ve ever known, DACA has been given many a chance to make a career and contribute back towards this country’s society in many ways but the threat of deportation and having entire lives ruined is still a nightmare to many who have worked hard for decades.

For those that do not know what the DACA program is; the Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals program was an executive order from President Obama close to the end of his term that granted federal protection and process to children of illegal immigrants to allow them to go to school and work under an Employment Authorization Card and a “work only” social security number to legally obtain education or employment. Many in DACA are doctors, mechanics, Firefighters, etc and a limited few even service-members in the US military. To be in the program you must maintain a clean criminal record (so no repeat offenses or felonies) and renew your status every two years.

With this action, many in the American workforce will no longer have to worry and can continue to give back to the country without worry of removal and have plenty more career opportunities open to them.

A sincere question… can DACA Recipients use the current process for applying for citizenship and naturalization? Is that the form N-400? If they can’t use that process, is there a specific reason why?

That I’m aware of no, I’m personally under the program and applying for Parole in Place the only other options available for DACA currently is PIP, Advanced Parole which means leaving the US for up to year and returning thru legal port of entry which for some in the program isn’t favorable and I don’t recall the name of the other but in shot you go back to the country of origin and apply and interview with a US consulate and can take years.

Dacă is her now . I propose that we see what’s the situation in matter of contribution to our country , if they only here as a drainage to our country then they are not deserve to be a citizen . Send them back to there country as prove they been here to long and never done something to contribute

Fair, I’ve yet to meet someone in the program tho who hasn’t been doing something to contribute back to America I’m sure they’re out there but I’ve yet to meet a single one. Met plenty of doctors, Nurses, and teachers so far. And personally I’m trying to be a California Registered professional Forester and trying to enlist into my states National Guard to be a combat medic

Pathway to citizenship, not citizenship and must be a significant net positive contributor, must peak annd write fluent English and no violent crimes or felonies ever.

We don’t care if they have useless college degrees, any positive impact needs to be something useful like STEM.
