Well - maybe do - but the problem wasn’t solved and it keeps getting worse.
Most likely laundering most of it back to themselves
Perhaps healthy substitutions for most
Nicotine technically isn’t addictive- as it is naturally occurring in many foods - it’s the addictive substances that big Corp and pharma places in them…
You think nicotine isn’t addictive but cannabis is? oml.
I think they have been manipulated to be so
My experience is limited to my state I guess. Missouri allows for individual cultivation. Most states allow the growth of tobacco for personal use, it should be the same for cannabis.
As anything, I take a very laissez-faire attitude to personal actions that do not limit or invade the liberties, lives or happiness of others.
I just want you to understand, I don’t disagree with you at all, I am just saying to seem to need to be clear on who your talking about, that’s on food stamps, there are some many different types of people getting them. I know the system needs to be reworked and done right and clear in what is wanted, it would not only be cleared up but hopefully not need to be reworked for years down the road.
If people are only receiving food stamps then they don’t need to volunteer but add this to housing health etc…
There is a limit for how long unless disabled, also you do need to attempt to look for work however after 12 weeks of working you can apply again that being said I still agreed that’s anyone able to work should be part of a program that helps the community!
Indeed
Im not sure where you are writing from but in my state you cannot get SNAP benefits if you are not volunteering or working at least 20 hours per week. Moreover, most of the people i know who have SNAP lose all but about $23 per month of benefits when they start working part time minimum wage, so they still cannot afford to eat and very likely not nutritiously.
I only read a portion of your initial post because it sounded not well thought out. “Those receiving assistance, have them volunteer”. I’m replying because you care enough to put a rebuttal. If you can, edit your initial post. You got 300 misinformed likes out of 900 views. Stick with specifics and you may get more thought provoking results from the thoughtful readers.
I would add a #4 to your rebuttal as well;
#4 - People on Disability insurance need to be investigated maybe each year or 2 years. I knew a lady on disability who claimed she couldn’t work but knowing her as I did, she was raising animals on her property and doing all sorts of things if disabled most people couldn’t do. I believe this system is abused all the time people taking advantage of it.
Who are you
My post was a suggestion for a policy based on where I live which is in NY
I am not a lawyer nir am I a legislator
I not here for popularity or likes
However I raised awareness- 400 likes and many responses with suggestions I would say is pretty good and proves to me that some type of thoughtful reform is not only needed but supported.
Just a thought about your title
WORKFARE not WELFARE
No one should be paid to stay at home and not work. According to the Americans with disabilities act even many disabled people can contribute to society. So instead of a managed welfare program make it a workfare program that allows a few individuals who are truly unable to work according to doctors and who are medically reviewed on a recurring cycle to receive tax dollars without reciprocation of work!
No enumerated constitutional provision for special or social welfare exists. Any “benefit” which requires qualification is not general welfare, but special welfare. Special or Social Welfare is a type of government support for the citizens of society and is unconstitutional!
Yes! Ageeed
is smoking pot outside your (rental) property considered here as an “invasion of liberties, lives or happiness of others”? A half a block has to “enjoy” along via second-smoking…
You could technically include public smoking of any kind, pot or tobacco, as public intoxication (even though neither are on the level of alcohol intoxication).
I also agree that, just like cigarettes, smokers should be treated as negligent when found smoking around their children.
The people down the street are not going to receive any meaningful effect from you smoking outside, but children will be affected by people hotboxing their houses and cars. If it annoys you, burn some incense or a candle; go inside.
Being outside, you are exposed to all and any toxins in the air, including cigarette smoke and chemicals produced by any machine or factory ever. It’s not very healthy to breathe at a gas station.
There is zero point in over-regulating something as insignificant as cannabis, when we allow alcohol and opioids. Unfortunately, when someone does something that annoys you, you can’t always say they should go to jail or be restricted because its stinky.
Should we bar people from burning their leaves because of the health risk posed by the release of smoke across neighborhoods? No. Should we bar someone from smoking a turkey because the smoke is drifting onto my property and is irritating my lungs? No. You can only make restrictions in public spaces, and your porch is not a public space.
You can only be barred from smoking outside a rental unit, if it is clarified in your written lease agreement.
Plus, we can just turn it into butter, oil, or sugar. Don’t have to smoke your medicine, smoking is bad for you.
