End the Kleptocracy

In 1948 the Duty of Loyalty and Care Laws were introduced that force executives of corporations to be beholden to their shareholders. That means that shareholders can sue the corporations if the executives fail to take advantage of an opportunity to raise shareholder value.

Prior to the age of Big Data this was not a problem because shareholders did not have evidence that making some kind of decision (whether it be harmful to the company or the people in the long-term) would increase revenue. Now that we have data we know that making certain decisions (Like making it extremely difficult to unsubscribe) can have the short term effect of making more money, but there is no way to know if that will have a long term effect because data can only be applied to short-term effects.

This is destroying our country. We have to change these laws or get rid of them in order for our country to function properly. This will likely change the dynamic. Executives will no longer be forced to pay lobbyists. Lobbyists will have less influence on policies. The country will no longer be fueled by greed and socialism for the rich.
