This has several parts, but they all focus on congress.

  1. Institute term limits on all members of congress. And overall life long limits. No one should be in politics for 60+ years. It sets up unrealistic ideas of what the real world is like.
  2. No member of congress can be a part of any legislation that involves a company they have financial interest in.
  3. Members of congress can reside in the state they represent. They dont need a home in DC. They can attend meetings via zoom and vote the same way.
  4. There is no reason any member of congress should be traveling out of the country on the tax payers’ dime. They represent their state, not the country. If that is the job they want, they should become an ambassador.
  5. No life long insurance for members of congress. They get standard insurance options like any other working person. When they leave the job, they have to give up ALL the perks.
  6. All members of congress should be paid based on the mean income of the state they represent.
