Ever since covid hit every establishment seems to have a tip jar out at the register just for making a purchase from their store. We don’t have anyone serving our food to us at our table, and every employee is receiving minimum wage at the least, so why are we being asked to pay more.
My daughters friend worked at a tea shop and the owner out out a tip jar n wouod take some of the money out n pay the employees n the. Pocket the rest. Why is this legal? We are already paying inflation rates and being asked for extra fees. It’s getting ridiculous how many companies want tops on top of donation money or your spare change when you getting rung up. Every store is asking if you’d like to round up or donate a dollar for this or that. It’s practically begging when it’s in your face…. Sometimes while you’re ringing up your own items in self checkout.
