Not displaying political party affiliations next to a candidates name on a voting ballot will incentivize voters to do research about the people they are voting for, rather than just picking every republican or democrat down the ballot. People should know who and what they are voting for. This will put a larger spotlight on the members being voted into congress and local elections who pass the laws that affect us most. Ideally this can eventually move us out of the two party system that is holding this nation back as we can vote on the person instead of the party.
This should be the first act for removing party corporation involvement in all forms of governance. We the people are more than an attribute of collective ideals. Each person has there beliefs and with it there own scale for which they measure it. Each political candidate should not be forced to extreme ideals to fit into the mold of a two party system. This would allow middle ground solutions and actual conversations instead of the extreme parties that we have to date. This would also lesson the power of corporation involvement by not having two large entities of shared wealth and would allow average people the opportunity to have there voices heard. Please consider this policy in an effort to restore communication between the people and provide a better path to a brighter future.
Wouldn’t this also result in loss of transparency?
You can hide people’s political affiliations all you want but that’s not going to stop candidates from being part of a political party.
