this is more government overreach. The Social Security Trust is the funding for social welfare. This means everyone with an SS # has an individual fund. We have to be careful having the government get more involved in our personal lives. Why just drug testing? what about alcohol? what about the effects of addictions that cause obesity? what about sex addictions? What about gambling addictions? this can go on and on because the same reason for wanting to test for drugs leads to the same reason all other addictions would need to be tested for. We may not like the results of the addiction, but we must be careful infringing upon our personal rights and freedoms, because where does it stop? As you can see in our current government how far the overreach has become. We must stop this.
They did this as a trial test already. Found that results shocking people were clean. Look it up.
Also that would not help anyone in chronic pain that have pain management to just to have relief from pain. That would punish them.
I have nerve pain so bad. Iām on pain medication. Days I cannot even walk. Do I abuse it no. With the pain medication I get some normalcy of a life.
