Disband NATO and Found New Defense Organization

The purpose of NATO was to ally against the USSR. With the dissolution of the USSR, the time for alliances against one particular country is over. I propose the disbanding of NATO, and the formation of a new defense alliance. Something along the lines of World Defense Alliance. Any nation in the world that is stable socially and politically would be able to join. Nations currently at war or taking hostile actions within another nation unless attacked initially would not able to join for at least 90 days from the end of their conflict. All nations in the alliance would promise to aid those nations that have been attacked as verified by independent intelligence reports. All nations joined in the alliance would be allowed trade deals with each other, but would have to cease trade with aggressor nations. All borders would be considered set for the forseeable future, with any breach of another country’s border considered a breach of the defense agreement and would be considered a breach of the alliance and dismissal from the alliance. Any interference in another country’s society or politics would also be banned, whether outright or covert. Any country dealing with internal strife after joining the alliance, would not be able to ask for help to resolve the crisis. Internal issues would be up to the citizens of that country to resolve.
