I have been prescribed dewormer from my DR and passed 100’s of parasites. I was confirmed to have liver flukes. The medication prescribed would only cover smaller flukes. I am currently working with my DR to hunt down Triclabendazole for the adult flukes. My DR has sent a script everywhere, but the problem is, it’s so rare that people in America de-worm that the medication simply isn’t available anywhere in the country. This same medication is sold over the counter in Mexico and other countries along with other dewormers. As much as Americans travel and eat abroad, deworming should be talked about much more and looked at first instead of last. I have had dramatic improvements with my IBS and food allergies so far with less of a parasite load. They have been contributing to my enlarged fatty liver as well. We deworm our animals and parasites are everywhere, it is absolutely mind boggling how little this is looked into in our country. I passed pinworms, roundworms, liver flukes, and a tape worm. This should not have cost me tens of thousands of dollars and 30 plus years of suffering to figure out. I hope we can make dewormer more easily accessible in America and get DR’s and big pharma out of gatekeeping this very important and overlooked remedy for MANY Americans. Hopefully this makes it to someone who can actually make a difference. Bobby Kennedy’s story about his brain worm inspired me to talk to my DR about investigating parasites and it turns out it was a real problem and hidden enemy for me. Thank you Bobby for inspiring me to dig deeper with your story and the MAGA and MAHA movements for fighting to give us a voice. For the first time in my life, I have hope that my words could reach the people who can make a difference within our government and country! Some of the symptoms of parasitic infection include: IBS, gas, diarrhea, itchy skin, eczema, enlarged liver, autoimmune illness, over-reactive mast cells, food and environmental allergies, insomnia, nausea, abdominal pain, liver pain, and many other symptoms. Too many Americans are given medications that mask the symptoms, but do not treat the underlying cause. Please vote to make this happen! Thank you all!
It’s ridiculous that politics and public opinion are effecting what medications people can buy. Fads or demonization shouldn’t be a part in what can be prescribed or filled at the pharmacy.
I’m sorry for all you’ve been through and I’m glad you’re feeling better.
By the way, any idea where you got the parasites? Just American food chain or? Sounds like we need to tighten up somewhere …
I agree. Medications like Ivermectin should be OTC. They are far more innocuous in comparison to some medications that currently are available without prescriptions.
Lots of available info. I am not a medical person but this site does provide a lot of info. This page may be a good starting point:
I read one time that it used to be that a couple of times a year back in the 30’s and 40’s it was common to automatically come in and “worm” the farm kids because parasites were normal if you were around animals and or out in the dirt (farming, chores, what ever.) I’ve also read that if you like Sushi - you should do some de-worming as they are natural in raw fish. So - that we don’t think this is an issue today makes me wonder how many “illnesses” today are in fact parasitic in nature. Some of the American Front Line Doctors Crew are pretty convinced that Cancer is parasitic. Hence the treatment of Ivermectin and Fenbendizol. Both of which should be sold inexpensively over the counter as is done in a lot f 3rd world countries!
That’s why the pharmaceutical companies and those who profit from them want to demonize Ivermectin and call it horse medicine. If people find out they can actually get affordable treatment for a multitude of ailments from Ivermectin, it will kill their billion-dollar profits selling Rx’s that mask symptoms, treat nothing, and cause worse problems in many cases that require more Rx’s. It’s all about money.
Given that so many people believe there might be a benefit to deworming, what is the harm in doing deworming in a process of elimination whenever there’s a health issue? If people want to, that is. I don’t think the medicine is very expensive and it isn’t harmful that I know of. If there are no parasites, then great, move on to the next thing. You’re either the same or a little healthier. Or maybe a lot healthier, depending on who’s getting asked. What’s the harm in trying it?
Isn’t it just a teensy bit weird that people have gotten so worked up over whether or not people can take a known, long used medicine? But you’ve GOT TO take the experimental stuff? Or else you’re a terrible person and anti-vax, etc.
What’s with all the big pressure and big feelings about it all, hm?
(Money and agendas, I know. Just pointing out it doesn’t make sense otherwise.)
I know from personal experience that parasites affect the US population. It is a hidden epidemic, in my opinion. I saw a magazine from the 1930’s or 1940’s (I don’t remember the year of the old magazine I saw) and it had an advertisement for de-worming medication for people. Obviously I was surprised to see it in a magazine. Maybe it was common knowledge some 100 years ago?
Not sure where I got them. I have travelled outside of the US many times for weeks at a time and did live in Puerto Rico for 9 years. They can happen anywhere really, even here. Think about the amount of Americans that travel or eat imported food though!
I’m sorry… you have worms? Did I read that correctly?
“I’m sorry… you have worms? Did I read that correctly? ”
That’s not helpful or kind.
By the way, you probably do too.
I agree with putting a spotlight on the importance of people deworming regularly because parasites cause so much damage to the human body that is unimaginable! The medication causes no harm to the body, while the protozoans, fungus, and worms are a true disaster to the system. We can acquire them from water, raw food (japanese food like sushi), vegetables, pets etc… Another important factor for us to become aware is that worms lodge in every organ, like the brain (migraines, toxoplasma), liver, so very often they are not present in stools. I have three pets and eventually eat raw food, so I have the habit of deworming twice a year. The practice increased my health dramatically as now I have no more migraines, as opposed to having them every week!
