Anyone who has pets will understand me here. Pet prescription laws are getting crazy. Are people misusing pet prescriptions so much so that it is necessary to regulate them like they do? Obviously it isn’t for the pet’s safety because only people who care about their pets are trying to manage and treat their problems. I live in an area where fleas aren’t usually a problem, but I had traveled to the south with my dog. No vet in the area could get me in within a month. Because it had been over a year since bringing her to my home vet they couldn’t give me an RX. I had to sign up for a remote vet, make an appointment, do a zoom call, lie about my address, explain that I just needed some Bravecto. Who are these laws protecting? All I know is it isn’t Americans or their pets.

They’ve been crazy for a long time, and like so many other mystifying laws they won’t fix themselves. Laws regarding availability of medicines, legality of pet “owner” administered shots, and dosages (esp. Rabies vaccine) need to be reformed.
