Criminal penalties for companies that market drugs knowing they harm

Criminal penalties for companies that market drugs knowing they do harm. Companies figure they can make more money than they may have to pay out for products that do harm due to liability and litigation. Harming people becomes just a cost of business. It is evil, it does harm, it should not be tolerated in a civil society. We must make it less profitable for companies to ignore the harm they do for profit.

Thank you, and how about companies that release products that have not been properly tested for safety? Shouldn’t they be held liable as well if harm arises?

You bet.

With the exception of products given immunity (e.g. childhood vaccines) aren’t companies already legally liable for selling products that cause undue harm? The challenge is proving it in a court of law and that even when they are clearly at fault it takes a very long time to reach a settlement. This is due to the structure of the legal system. If only the corrupt FDA, which is supposed to be protecting the citizens, wouldn’t approve bad products.
