Clean Slate program

There are many people (including my wife and I) who do not qualify for bankruptcy, but because of a litany of DEI related issues (middle aged white guy) I have not been able to earn like I could and we are drowning in debt.

I would like to see a clean slate program that bypasses a lot of the BS to qualify for bankruptcy. My wife and I like my many others are hard working, good people and people like us deserve a chance to wipe the slate clean.

The banks have been unfair. Back in 2008, as a franchise owner, I had a small business line of credit. When the franchisor went bankrupt, it left all the small business owners to deal with the banks. I was able to resolve issues with all but one bank—Wells Fargo. I hired attorneys who tried to help, but Wells Fargo was not willing to resolve the matter. When I explained the situation, they didn’t care. Two attorneys advised me to let it go to judgment, believing it would prompt a settlement. However, after obtaining a judgment, they sold the debt. It’s been over 10 years.

I believe people should be able to be removed from judgments if they remain unresolved for five years. Additionally, if a debt is no longer with the originator, it should be considered invalid. Since the credit line was personally guaranteed, they issued a personal judgment. I hope that Trump will review the number of creditors holding judgments over 10 years old and request those debts be forgiven or cap how long a judgment can be renewed, as it is not resolvable.

But back in 2008 the bank had no problems getting government help. The people never seem to be afforded the same grace.

Yes! After the pandemic we’ve paid of our credit cards numerous times and theyre back up again. We can’t keep our heads above water. My kids and I see my husband 1-3 days a week because he has to work overtime just to pay minimums. We both have a decent base income, i stay home with the kids… A clean slate on all of these cards would strengthen our family and we could be together more. I support this!!!
