I recommend an amendment to your proposal that it’s not limited to Chinese own land but any agricultural land owned by foreign persons or business

This is a HUGE issue where I live in the St. Lawrence River in NY. The properties sit and rot for years because they Chinese own them and don’t do anything with them.

No reparations! And no land to Chinese! Block people do not need reparations. If so the Mornings need it for being run out of eastern states and out of America. That’s ridiculous!
If the person is Chinese but a US Citizen They are Exempt. They can buy as much as they want. but can only sell it to other US Citizens.

I would propose foreign owned land AT ALL that isnt for leisure (2nd home vacation home etc). Foreign businesses should lease land from land owners.

Agree with most of what you said except the solar field. Putting in a solar field completely destroys the usefulness of farmland. It is not recoverable because they remove all of the topsoil, pour a bunch of concrete, not to mention the chemicals that leach into the ground when a panel breaks or battery leaks. There is no point in taking it away from non-US citizens if we are simply going to destroy it ourselves.

I would also include some type of restriction for US citizens[the likes of Bill Gates]. To keep them from hoarding ,controlling, and experimenting on our food supply. This could include him or anyone else from experimenting on animals, bugs and the like and releasing them into nature.

I cannot think of one good single reason, other than business reasons, why a foreign country should own any of our farmland. I think it should be a National Security concern.

Because people have the right to sell their property to whomever they like, I would suggest implementing substantially higher property taxes for foreign owned property. And also must adhere to all local, state, and federal laws.
No foreign nation, their nationals, or foreign entity should be allowed to own our land.

I agree with you here in spirit, but I don’t think it’d be prudent to ban foreigners from owning American land, because we want to be a welcoming place of business for the whole world (that benefits all of us). But there definitely should be restrictions on type of land and/or what you are using it for. As in the case of the Chinese gov’t buying farmland and growing crops on it…that’s unacceptable!

The concern here seems clear. Security Risks.
This leads to more questions in my mind.
- When and why was this policy was initiated?
- Was it to pay off foreign debt? What are the terms for international purchase?
- Does the US own land in other countries?
- Are there built in limitations or restrictions? Such as guarantees against resell, no harm to environment, no ability to acquire mineral rights, etc in these international non citizen purchases?

I absolutely agree,but would like to add that it should be expanded to all foreign owners of American farmland. America and American citizens are the only ones who should have monetary or any other form of power over our food and where it comes from.

I agree with you on the non-citizens or foreign corporations not being allowed to buy US land. It’s a great idea to help veterans and first time home buyers with land that is taken back from the foreign owners. Terrific!
