Campaigning Reform

Billions of dollars are spent on campaigns that can be redirected to use in the economy or on the American people. This can, and must, be remedied.

Presidential Elections: Each candidate gets $100M of taxpayer money. All outside money and in-kind contributions are banned. The campaign season is 6 months long and no campaigning will be permitted before the beginning of the period. TV networks must carry 3 debates (moderated by external parties chosen by and agreeable to both campaigns) at no charge to the campaigns and provide 20 hours of free advertising per candidate across markets.

State elections: Zero money from persons or organizations located outside of the state will be allowed. Campaign contributions from within the state shall be capped at $2,500 per person. The campaign window shall be 4 months. TV networks must show at least one debate (moderated by external parties chosen by the campaigns) during the campaign window and provide 10 hours of free advertising.

Well said. I would also like to see a list of ALL donors maybe $500 and more to be able to see the DARK money that goes into these races.
