All benefits - SNAP, food banks, Welfare, etc. - need to be provided under one Social Security Number. People take advantage of the system too easily and people who need the benefits don’t always get them.
One number would allow tracking of who gets what and how much they get - ensuring the people who need the help will get it rather than people being allowed to take advantage of the system.
Local food banks and other local organizations will be able to better manage the needs for people as well. With transparency, they will understand what people need and how much they are getting in benefits.
