I believe that we should outlaw political parties establishing a taxpayer fund/donation fund evenly distributed among candidates…say $50 per taxpayer. Any candidate who used any monies collected from outside sources would be disqualified…even beyond being elected
I believe the parties influence has been the single most detrimental thing to a government for the people and by the people. Right now is an example of Democrats saying they won’t certify Trump is he wins. Each individual should vote for bills based on facts and their conscience…not party lines
People have become lazy and they don’t look care to discover the candidates to see what a candidate truly stands and it matters little anyway because of political pacts. They influence a candidate in order to get elected, so he is not going to perform the way the voter believes but is beholden to the entity. This is how big money from overseas influences social media and everything else by getting Congress in the center to turn a blind eye because they’re re-elections depend on these people.
So, if we do this, and give them monies and free debates from the media, I do not believe this will affect the electoral college because once again you would still receive electoral votes in a national election the exception that the nominating process would simply be the candidate who received more votes receives more of the electoral votes. As we know today a political party can now name whoever they want even though the people have spoken against that person. It was just done. That is not government by the people for as we know many of these people who are in these political positions work for themselves and their own benefits.
Some of the other things we would have to tweak is that any candidate running would submit a platform the platform would be published by the US government on their websites which would give access to all and email sent out to all those who have email or snail mail. theinformation from groups that want their special needs presented to Congress or to the legislator… The difference being that there would be no monetary influence over the person being elected and so he would be free to go with his conscience.
