Children are scared for their lives in classrooms across America. I believe we should arm the teacher. The process should go something like this: teacher opts into the certification program. Said teacher is given extensive background check. If the teacher passes they are enrolled in a program that teaches them basic gun safety, how to clean a gun, and when is it proper to use the gun. After they pass a written test, they should then be enrolled in a practical usage class. Such classes may include: how to actually aim, shoot, and assess the threat level. After they pass the test, they should then be certified to carry a gun in schools. This will significantly reduce the amount of school shootings. If their is a live shooter, the shooting will be ended faster than if you had to wait for the police to show up. Every second is precious in a live shooter situation.
