TRUTH – Transparent, Reliable, and Unbiased Trusted Elections Act

1. National Holiday on Voting Day:

  • Designate Election Day as a national holiday to ensure maximum voter participation by allowing all eligible voters the opportunity to vote without work-related constraints.

2. Federal ID Requirement to Vote:

  • Mandate the presentation of a federally recognized ID at polling stations to verify voter identity, reducing the risk of voter fraud. (e.g. issue new SS id with photo to every US citizen)

3. Paper Ballots Only on Voting Date:

  • Utilize exclusively paper ballots during in-person voting to enhance security and ensure a verifiable paper trail for all votes cast on Election Day.

4. Mail-In Voting Regulations:

  • Request Requirement: Voters must request mail-in ballots at least two months prior to Election Day.
  • Postage Validity: Mail-in ballots are considered valid only if the postage is dated before Election Day, ensuring ballots are received and processed in a timely manner.
  • In-Person Voting Assumption: Mail-in voting is restricted to cases where in-person voting is impossible on Election Day, maintaining the integrity of the voting process.

5. Certification by All Party Officials/Volunteers:

  • Require that officials from all present political parties jointly certify the results of each ballot box, ensuring bipartisan oversight and transparency in vote counting.

6. Timely Vote Counting:

  • Midnight Counting Deadline: Complete vote counting by midnight on Election Night with all parties present to certify ballot boxes.
  • Accounting for Mail-In Ballots: Track and account for the number of mail-in ballots requested in each precinct to ensure all votes are accurately counted and reported.

7. State Officials Accountability:

  • Voter Registration Oversight: Ensure that the number of registered US citizens per precinct is accurately maintained.
  • Vote Limits: Enforce that the number of votes cast does not exceed the number of registered voters in each precinct.
  • Preliminary Certification: Certify preliminary results by midnight on Election Night.
  • Final Certification: Complete final result certification, including resolving any conflicted ballot boxes and mail-in ballots, within 48 hours after Election Day.

8. Federal Responsibility for Mail-In Ballot Processing:

  • Ensure the federal government is responsible for transferring mail-in ballots to each precinct within 24 hours after Election Day, guaranteeing timely processing and counting.

I think the mods have to do it…

What would your opinions be on having military members, active/reserve/guard be the primary poll workers? In the military we can obviously have our own opinions on the politics of our country but we are normally told that we need to remain apolitical with certain aspects of it. The idea of being held accountable under the UCMJ would help ensure a more secure election. We are able to go to alternate duty locations, and we have programs such as RAP “recruiter’s assistance program “, so I don’t see why we couldn’t have something similar for Election assistance. As far as guard/reserve members go, what if that can count towards their time on “active status”.
I also would like to entertain the idea of any certifying officials and anyone intaking mail-in ballots being required to wear a body cam to guarantee they aren’t tampering with votes or allowing votes to come in after the deadline to receive mail-ins?

I think it should always remain open to volunteers. The military is state controlled, and while it probably wouldnt be an issue, it wouldnt look good.

Volunteers are fine, but live stream the whole thing.

My proposal for an amendment covers much of what you have here while maintaining respect for state sovereignty. The primary mechanism for this is giving states and citizens standing to sue, and raising all election crimes to treason status. That will force better behavior while respecting sovereignty .

Election Day should be on a Sunday. Easier for people to get to the polls and easier for people to volunteer.
