Term limits for Senators and Representatives

Senate terms are 6 years long, 10 years won’t work. How about 2 terms limit for Senate? House terms are 2 years in length so 2-6 terms for them? Definitely need to get rid of the open ended going to Washington for life.

Personally, I’d say that we no longer need term limits since the Republicans are now in control. If the democrats didn’t have them, then its only fair that the Republicans don’t have them either. We need to hold all offices as long as possible.

I would suggest Repeal of the 16th Amendment as well. Without our complex convoluted direct tax system there would be little need for lobbies.
Current direct taxation has turned the U.S. Congress into the World’s largest House of prostitution. Original intent was for all taxation to be indirect and proportional. U.S. Constitution Article I.

I think 12 years is too long. Max 8-10 is enough!

8-10 years is sufficient time to accomplish what you set out to do.

Need Term Limits on all representative

I’ve been beating this drum for years. This is the only opportunity short of a Convention of States that has a chance. Life Benefits only awarded after 10 years of service (Meaning you have to be reelected) 12 years of service through three, four year terms. Upon earning your 10-year attention can be directed to training your intended replacement.

If we have to balance the budget, then we will have to say “No” to some things. This approach will impact tenure. Term limits aren’t a big deal if the constituents needs are being met while still being fiscally responsible

As I age, I notice (somewhat reluctantly) that I am learning new stuff from the youngin’s. To stay current on topics and to be forward-thinking one must concede to the new way of thought and if you’re reluctant to do so the world will pass you by. Give up your seat so our country can progress.

I feel 10 year requirement for life benefit is a minimum expectation. They should earn it through consistency.

It must be less than the President. All of congress already looks at the President as a temporary employee! This needs to stop!

Term limits ae good for the president, they would be better for the Senate and House!

This is the number one issue mentioned that I am interested in. Career politicians have not been for the people lately. I believe it will be challenging getting the Senate to agree to an amendment that limits their personal power.

That takes care of the senate, but not the house. We have a lot of professional politicians there too.

Yes!! This is THE MOST effective way to drain the swamp! Career politicians is the biggest reason (imo) for the decline of our country. They become too powerful and corruption becomes way too easy. Please let’s get this passed into law!!
