Absolutely!!!
Omg!!! This would be amazing!! I do NOT know one person, that I’ve had this discussion with that does not agree that dental insurance needs to be better. Oral health can affect physical, mental, and emotional health. I have been trying for years to get dental care, but I can not afford it. I have lost teeth since this, can only chew on one side. Need fillings, extractions, and partial or orthodontics to mange future dental issues. I couldn’t afford it when I had my job and now I have Medicaid and no dentist that has good reviews can get you in with in a year or more!!! That’s crazy!! So YES YES YES let’s please take a look at dental care and insurance
Idk if this can even be mandated but I would like to see dental X-rays become more optional. Especially if the patient has no history of any dental problems. Why force X-ray exposure when there isn’t a medical necessity?
You could call this initiative :
Make Americans Smile Again MASA
Yes!! Love it!
I was going to post this too. I am missing several teeth too. I would love to get implants but in this economy, I can barely afford the necessities. I would love to smile again too! Some of my friends need hearing aids and said they start at $6,000 and up.
Agreed the Veterans Administration views teeth as a luxury for Veterans. It is why my mom who is a 71 year old vet can’t get new dentures as her old ones has warped. It’s not included in what she can get for free at the VA hospital despite being an Air Force Veteran.
So for the past few yrs she’s been running everything through a food processor to eat. No Vet should have to do that to eat.
Teeth should be something Veterans should be able to have access to at the VA hospital system across the United States.
This is an issue for the states, not the federal government.
Not for the Veterans Administration who are serving military Veterans. it shouldn’t be left up to the states. Veterans Administration is not serving the general population, they’re serving Veterans.
Teeth should not be considered a luxury for Veterans.
This one is near and dear to my heart. I have severe dental issues and BECAUSE dental insurance is just horrific (doesn’t pay for any major services). The cost of dental procedures is insane and the measly $1500/yr or is that lifetime is a joke. We need the dental industry to reduce the costs and the insurance companies to step up and have more coverage for things like dentures, extractions, surgical etc.
I absolutely agree!! My family & I have been having the most trouble finding a dentist around where we live that takes our insurance. We found one far away but they’re all booked up and haven’t even heard from them for an appointment!!
Agreed, veterans should get full health care, including dental.
Absolutely dental, vision and hearing should be included in Medicare and Insurance coverages.
All of these 3 contribute to quality of life.
We have what is considered “good” Dental insurance but we still cant afford to fix my teeth or my husbands or my daughters. 1 Crown even is expensive but you have to meet the deductable first too. Ect. Implants are completely out of our budget even though we make 150,000 for 4 people we cannot afford dental care, and groceries, and gas, and rent, or any medical surgeries and just fall further into debt. If we do have extra cash at any point it goes to the kids needs. Dental should not be an expense! Not unless its something like cosmetic whitening or a full set of veneers or a set of dental implants to replace crowns. If your teeth have fallen out after so much oral surgery you should be able to cover implants and crowns with insurance.
And can we also talk about braces? My eldest daughter needed 2 phases of braces over 4 years and her entire mouth is now covered in cavities and after paying a total of 6500 for the braces she needs “Cosmetic” Dentistry to fix all the cavities and make her teeth look normal again? That is a couple more thousand dollars. Make it Make Sense.
Graphene free anesthetics need and check into Canada’s scientific information about growing new teeth with ultrasound. maybe less pain, and great way to help all.
Canada also scientifically stating this research is available. Ultrasounds used to regrow tooth germs(buds) under the gums.
Yes! I remember a TV program well over a decade ago talking about regrowing teeth with stem cells. They said it should be available to the market in a year or two and should only cost about as much as a filling.
Then it was buried.
How many people are suffering with infection, no teeth and even unemployed because they don’t have the tens of thousands for dental implants?
I searched for this very thing because I have not been able to find a dentist that is covered under my insurance that will allow me to get my teeth cleaned without x-raying my teeth first. I do not have any issues that need attention at this time and I just want to get them cleaned. I am averse to x-rays because I worked at a nuclear plant and my exit whole body count showed that I had picked up radiation in my hands and feet and I would prefer to minimize my exposure to further radiation as much as possible. It is such a scam! I hope that someone will formalize this into a suggestion that we can vote for!
I love this! I have lost 17 teeth due to severe TMJ and grinding leaving my teeth cracked and damaged, I am a poor American and being on Medicaid means I can pay $1100-$1500 on root canal’s every time I chip a tooth or just have It removed for $45-$60. My monthly income of 2500 or less made it extreme hard if not impossible to save my teeth. I know I am not alone so I would love to see some federal changes around dental health.
Health insurance should cover dental needs
