I would really love to see a change in the health insurance and dental insurance industry. I feel like throughout the years, insurance plans have gotten outrageous and they are next to impossible to afford. Not only do they not cover much without paying thousands of dollars a month for your family, but they cover nothing for dental, but one cleaning a year and very little of anything outside of cleaning. I came from a family who never took me to the dentist for most of my life unless it was an emergency, and I still cannot afford to get my teeth fixed. I live in horrible pain daily. My teeth are too far gone that I need veneers and that’s something that will physically never happen for me with the pricing of veneers which insurance won’t cover. I feel like the insurance companies are pocketing so much money while Americans suffer. I don’t think dental health is talked about enough and millions of people struggle with it. As a millennial, I don’t feel like we’ve ever had a chance to get on our feet. Or be able to afford the healthcare we need. I suffer with stage four endometriosis and a surgery is so expensive even with an expensive insurance plan through my husband‘s oil field job in Midland. Health insurance and dental insurance has got to change majorly so that we can survive. I love the plans that are set in motion to help with the food we all eat and I know that will help a ton, but I would love to have and insurance plan that I felt safe financially if God forbid something was to ever happen to one of my family members or myself.
Yes, outrageous, just outrageous out of pocket expenses. How do.dentists come up with such fees of.over $2000 for.a.crown??? More for root.canal. insurance pays not even half of.this and then not.for.any other.procedure for.the rest of.the year. Insurance goes up or.covers less every year. I need 3 crowns and keep postponing the procedures for.lack of funds.
I, too, am fed up with the health insurance companies! Unless you know the right questions to ask or what is going on, you’re just charged without any control or limitations.
No idea I needed pre authorization before having a CT scan (the 4th test mind you my dr requested to needlessly ‘look for something’ turns out it was just small breast cysts - nothing to be concerned about $1000s of dollars later ) or else the insurer won’t pay it?! I called to make sure they were in net work, that would have been a great time for them to ask a few more questions to help me out. But instead now I have to pay a bill in full because I expected my insurance to at least cover a portion of my expenses, which I pay premium for them to do!
This is fraud!
