We need to be able to deducte more than $5,000 for child care a year from our checks. I do not know a single person who pays out of pocket, and $5,000 comes close to covering that cost. In my area the average is $60/day, which is $300 a week and $15,600/year. Despite holidays, sick or vacation days, I still have to pay for my child to attend. The $5,000 that I can pay pre-tax is a drop in the bucket. To deal with the rise in inflation, I believe the cost should be raised to $10,000 a year, per child. Thanks!
