One of the big issues I’ve seen is that Pharmaceutical industries have taken advantage of people who want to get healthy. Most everyone wants to get healthy but too many people don’t know how to do it. Large Pharmaceutical industries have taken advantage of this and pushed different weight loss pills that have drastic consequences such as Ozempic. Unfortunately when these pills are taken with a sedentary lifestyle, they lead to losing muscle mass and bone density. So yes you lose weight, but it’s not the right way. You end up weaker and more frail. This is why they should look at removing certain subsidies and really focus on making Americans healthier by subsidizing more natural food production. There are other things they can do as well such as looking into promoting exercise but the best starting point is where it all begins… with what we put into our bodies. The FDA currently allows over 10,000 food additives into our food. For comparison the EU allows around 300 food additives. It’s well known that companies make their food differently for the U.S. so that it’s brighter and more addicting for everyday Americans. The FDA is allowing American to be taken advantage of and we are all paying for it with our health. Additives such as High Fructose Corn Syrup, seed oils, red 40, and massive amounts of sugar are quite literally poisoning people.
I would love to see food programs like nutrisystem covered by insurance or a monthly amount for healthy foods to aid in dieting vs drugs like ozempic.
