Offshore wind has been pushed as a green, clean form of energy. Nothing could be further than the truth.
OSW runs on fossil fuels, destroys the ocean, marine life, shore communities, commercial fishing industry, energy independence, destabilizes the grid, safety and health concerns (high voltage EMF cables/experimental battery storage are needed), PFAS in our ocean, most expensive form of energy, relies on massive taxpayer subsidies, state mandates removing home rule for the implementation of renewables.
I demand that the U.S abandon the scoping plan and Climate Leadership Community Protection Act (CLCPA) in favor of a plan grounded in science and engineering, a plan that does not discriminate against safe, energy dense, cost effective, carbon-free base load nuclear power.
We can save our seashores, our forests and farms but only if we abandon the plan Albany is currently pursuing.
As we’ve seen from the #vineyardoffshoreturbinedebris, there is no safe, cumulative impact provided by our government agencies to safely and effectively mitigate more PFAS from destroying our ocean.
Turbines will be rotting in our ocean after their end of their “useful” life.

We have been dealing with a couple of broken turbines south of Nantucket Sound. The plastic debris file was almost a hundred miles wide. My concern is the cost of construction, installation, maintenance… doesn’t that process require fossil fuels to produce. Also, concerned about the about underwater vibration and noise harming fish and mammals. Also the turbines injure birds. Not sure how this can be a viable sustainable solution when we can transport and burn natural gas.
