Pain management patients need their medication. While there are doctors and patients who abuse the system, that doesnt mean we should stop helping those in need. Pharmacies cant fill the legitimate prescriptions being written because the dont have the supply.
Drug addicts are going to find a way to get high, regardless of the laws/policies in place. All you are doing is hurting legitimate patients who, with their medications, are productive members of society. Without their meds, they are unable to work, and many contemplate or even commit suicide! This is unacceptable. Stop killing legitimate pain management patients, please!!!
Thank you Sir, it is killing us.
I completely agree with this statement
Amen! Tens of millions are being ignored and suffering in complete agony. We are failing as a society if this is what we subject our citizens to! When we’ve gone so far that doctors are too afraid to give a 90 yr old pain relief in their last week of life because they fear the government SO bad, we MUST address it! When people with severely painful conditions that require round the clock pain control are told to take Advil, we’re inflicting cruelty and denying legitimate medical care. Under and untreated pain can and does kill!
The “oxycontin narrative” is dead, you can’t keep blaming the same old thing while wondering why the drug overdose deaths keep rising. Failure to differentiate between medical and illicit fentanyl is a large part of the problem. DEA, CDC and others are violating US CODE 42 SS 1395 and courts are ignoring Ruan SCOTUS ruling (9-0!) from 2022. Pardon our innocent providers and let pain management be great again! Investigate the anti-opioid “non-profits” for their role in this debacle! Conflicts of interest are guaranteed to be found. They are self-proclaimed experts, making millions in courtrooms across the country. They flood the medical journals with propaganda and are backed by WEF on this.
Morphine has been used for over 100 years, oxycodone was created around 1916 and available in 1939-why no “crisis” until 2017?
Also, Purdue is blamed for all of this but it’s often forgotten that they made ADFs, abuse deterrent formulas. There have been efforts to curb prescription diversion, misuse, etc but they’ve taken it all too far! PDMP data should not be accessible to law enforcement without a warrant, it’s personal health information and is being used as a weapon to prosecute providers.
MME is junk science, at most should be used as a “guide”, not a legal ramification.
Time is overdue to end this cruelty!
I agree! I have been in pain daily since my accident in 1997. I had hydrocorome, but when they took that away, my ability to do daily life became severely interrupted. Then I got a head injury followed by functional neurological disorder and pain is a huge trigger for my symptoms. I tried gabapentin for a couple of years but that induced extreme fatigue and so many other symptoms and I weened off of it. Im not eligible for epidural blocks anymore or any type of steroid because it induced Cushing Syndrome, um left with taking so much ibuprofen and Tylenol pm that now my reflux is back. I was far from addicted to my pain medication. I was able to take it in the evening so I didn’t have that “medicine head” feeling and it didn’t interrupt my work life. Now I’m disabled due to the FND and sit in pain nonstop doing physical therapy with a limit on how many I can do. It is cruel because so many people have suffered, yet end of life patients are able to get it and pain is subjective so who is to say that pain sufferers don’t feel the same extreme pain as someone that’s in end-stage conditions? There can be some policy on it when prescribed that require doctors and patients to do some sort of check in to make sure the patient only is taking their own meds and not abusing it.
FIND CURE FOR PSSD
I am writing to urgently bring to your attention a critical and growing public health crisis caused by the long-term effects of SSRI antidepressants, specifically Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD). This email is also being forwarded to the Trump Administration and the White House Office, as this issue requires immediate intervention at the highest levels of governance.
PSSD is a debilitating condition that has devastated countless lives in the United States and around the world. The condition, caused by SSRI antidepressants, leads to a permanent loss of sexual function, emotional numbness, and other severe side effects, leaving individuals unable to live normal, fulfilling lives. Many have tragically taken their own lives due to the unbearable impact of this condition.
Key Points of Concern:
- Fertility and Health Crisis:
PSSD contributes to the falling fertility rate in the U.S., as it significantly impairs reproductive health and function.
The long-term damage to mental and physical health threatens the well-being of millions, undermining the vitality of our nation. - Inadequate Regulation:
Despite mounting evidence, SSRIs continue to be prescribed without adequate warnings about their irreversible side effects.
Who is responsible for approving and monitoring these drugs, and how are they allowed to remain on the market despite their catastrophic consequences? - Need for Immediate Research on Cures:
No effective treatment or cure currently exists for PSSD, leaving sufferers without hope or recourse.
Urgent funding and focus must be directed toward finding a solution for this condition.
This situation is not just a personal health issue-it is a societal crisis. The health, happiness, and productivity of our citizens are being systematically eroded by the unchecked use of these hazardous substances.
I implore the FDA to take the following actions immediately:
Review the approval and monitoring process for SSRIs to prevent further harm.
Mandate stronger warnings on all SSRI medications about the risk of PSSD.
Allocate resources soon to RESEARCH and develop CURE for PSSD.
The future of America depends on its people, and their health must be safeguarded above all else. I respectfully request your urgent attention to this matter. Millions of lives, including my own, are at stake.
